The Art of Being Me - Art & Photography Workshop
The Art of Being Me
A creative workshop for girls aged 10–14 years
Join us for a fun and inspiring day of art, photography and creativity, led by experienced Art Facilitator Sharkey.
Growing up today can be challenging, with social media and stereotypes often shaping how girls see themselves and what they think they should be. The Art of Being Me gives girls the opportunity to step away from those messages, recognise that they don't have to define them, and explore who they are through creativity, positive conversations and self-expression.
What to Expect
Creative Activities
Hands-on art and photography activities designed to build creativity, confidence and self-expression.
Photography & Artwork
Working in small groups, girls will photograph one another before using a favourite image to create a colourful mixed-media self-portrait using monoprinting and collage. Through the creative process, they'll explore their own strengths, challenge stereotypes and create a unique piece of artwork that reflects who they are.
A Relaxed Environment
No previous experience is needed. The workshop is friendly, welcoming and suitable for all abilities, with plenty of guidance throughout the day.
What They'll Take Away
New art and photography skills.
Increased creative confidence.
A framed mixed-media self-portrait to take home.
Positive conversations that encourage girls to recognise their strengths, question stereotypes and value their own individuality.
A fun, creative day with other like-minded girls.
